The UNAB?S directive board has implemented new policies regarding English proficiency at Caldas. Our future graduates will be taking the TEP2 very soon.

What is a TEP Exam?
It is a Test of English Proficiency that measures the ability of students to understand English as it is spoken, written and heard in different settings .This exam will place them on the B1 level according to the Common European Framework.

What will TEP2 do for our students?
If students get a score over 70 points , they will able to validate six English levels at UNAB. There will be only one remaining level to take. If their score is below 70 points they will have the opportunity to take TEP 1 which will place them on the A2 level according to the Common European Framework. If their score is over 70 points they will have the benefit of passing three English levels.

In addition , Students will receive a certificate during the graduation ceremony.

What does TEP2 involve?
It is a computer based- exam that consist of different sections:

  • Reading: You will need to be able to understand the meaning of written English at word, sentence, paragraph and whole text level.
  • Writing: You will have to show you can produce a number of different items such as a short story, a letter, an article, a report or a composition.
  • Listening: You need to show you can understand the meaning of a range of spoken material, including lectures, news programs
  • Speaking: It will be done in pairs, based on some specific situations

Approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes

When is it?
On May 21/ 2008

Where is it?
At CSU campus ( Computer room ) It will be administered by the UNAB Language Department.
